- Do I use the product? I would recommend that you use whatever you promote. There is just an inherent authenticity to your promotions when you do this and your audience will appreciate it!
- Does it solve a problem your audience or customers have? If it does then that is a good one! The quality of the product - the better it is the easier it is to promote
- The customer support - your reputation is based on their customer service. Your customers won't come back if you palm them off on something shoddy!
- The price - is it in the right range for your audience?
- The commission - is it worth your time and effort?
- Flash in the pan or long term product - a long term, regular income stream from commission won't happen if the product is a fad or seasonal; think selling Christmas trees in July!
- History, sales figures, testimonials, etc of the product always help with social proof when promoting a product
- Sales and promotional material. Some affiliates give sales pages, copy, emails, etc for you to use in promoting. This can speed up your promotion and time taken to earn commission!

8. What are some affiliate marketing tips?
The biggest tip is get out there and do it!
And by that I mean pick a niche, pick a product and get to promoting it with your audience. That means use it yourself, give a review, write a blog, post on social media about it, explain the problem it helps solve from a personal point of view, etc.
Don't overthink things!
If you love it then think of it like recommending something you just bought to your friends.

- doing it for the money - do it to help people instead!
- picking a poor product that you don't even like!
- promoting something that is totally not what your audience think is 'you'
- incongruence or total anti-your-position such as a meat promotion when your audience is vegan!!!
- do something once then forget it and promote something totally different - be consistent,
- promote complimentary things that 'fit' in your niche
- giving up and saying 'it doesn't work'
- trying to do it on your own
- trying to do it all for free
- not paying a small amount to access help, support and coaching!
